Can you make an ancient toilet work?

It's not always necessary to replace a whole toilet, even if it's old.

I had the privilege to do a plumbing job on a farm outside of Humansdorp.

The owner of the home wanted to get rid of the toilets because of their age (they’re around 40 years old), but to any self-respecting plumber they’re antiques and thus worth saving.

So I suggested we simply update the toilets’ innards. And that’s what I did.

So instead of replacing four whole toilets, I saved the owner a pocket full of cash by simply modernising the internal workings.
